Bio
Kevin Compher is an investor, technologist, and venture builder with more than thirty years of experience funding and scaling frontier technology companies in national security, biotechnology, autonomy, advanced computing, and space. Before joining Ateklo, he served as a Partner at Interwoven Ventures, where he led robotics and dual-use investing, built SPVs, and supported portfolio companies through technical diligence, go-to-market strategy, and United States government acquisition pathways.
Earlier in his career he spent 14 years as an Executive and Senior Partner inside the Intelligence Community and In-Q-Tel, managing applied artificial intelligence and commercial space portfolios and contributing to national data infrastructures such as the Securities and Exchange Commission's Consolidated Audit Trail. Across his career, Kevin has backed or advised hundreds of early-stage deep technology ventures in sensing, satellite systems, industrial analytics, automotive safety, and defense software.
He co-founded Foundation, an automotive intelligence company, and OSP, a geospatial database platform (acquired 2010), and has worked extensively at the intersection of high-stakes data and mission-critical infrastructure. His investment practice spans the full lifecycle from frontier research sourcing and technical evaluation to capital structuring, regulatory positioning, and strategic customer development.
Kevin also leads Midcoast Ventures, his family office focused on early-stage deep technology and dual-use advisory work, and mentors founders through the Creative Destructive Lab, the Roux Institute, and the Batchery. His expertise in commercial and government market alignment, and operator-founder matching now informs Ateklo's investment system, ensuring each venture is shaped by clear market pull, disciplined capital use, and durable routes to adoption and scale.
